Our field-programmable gate array (FPGA) hardware is the backbone of IMC’s proprietary trading infrastructure. It gives us the latency edge needed to make critical trading decisions at lightning speed.
But, as we continue to grow, our hardware has to deliver much more than speed. IMC's hardware engineers work closely with other global teams to provide the capacity we need to expand our trading coverage and capitalize on new market opportunities.

IMC has one of the largest dedicated FPGA engineering setups in trading. Across our offices, IMC engineers work as a single, global team under the same codebase. Free from silos or internal competition, they can develop local solutions today and leverage another region’s designs tomorrow.
A CROSS-FUNCTIONAL CULTURE
Our collaborative approach also cuts across functions. On our office whiteboards, hardware engineers work in lockstep with software engineers and traders, carefully dissecting trading algorithms into the pieces that are best suited for hardware versus software.
Our teams then reassemble these pieces, run them thousands of times per second, and instrument every part of the system to ensure we’ve made the right choices.
