IMC’s hands-on internship program is built for driven high achievers who are eager to make an impact and explore a career at a leading trading firm. We offer internships in a variety of disciplines, including quant trading, quant research, software development, and hardware engineering.
Our 10-week internship program is designed and led by IMC’s experienced quants, traders, and engineers.
Under their guidance, you’ll be challenged and embark on a steep learning curve during training and project work. You’ll have the opportunity to share your ideas and experience in IMC’s fast-paced environment.
Our internship is open to ambitious, high-performing undergraduates in their penultimate year studying an analytical or technical subject like computer science, math, statistics, physics, or a related field of study.
No prior knowledge of, or experience in, financial markets is required.
You’ll get an introduction to the financial markets and IMC's unique approach to trading. Trading and quant research interns will dive into game theory and options theory, while software and hardware engineering interns will sharpen their Java and C++ skills. Throughout the internship, we'll continue to challenge you with training sessions, trading games, simulations, and lectures.
After classroom trainings wrap up, you'll work on a real project. Trading and quant research interns will focus on the more systematic, analytics-driven parts of our trading activities, contributing to a new trading strategy or building a tool or feature for our trading systems. Software and hardware engineering interns will focus on improving the performance of IMC’s systems and tools.
You'll work closely with your mentor throughout your project. They'll coach you, challenge you, and review your work. At the end of the program, you'll present your project to your IMC colleagues and leaders.
